This dynamic training program is designed to empower mental health professionals with the skills and knowledge to integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into Play Therapy. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of ACT, including its core principles and the six key processes: cognitive defusion, acceptance, contact with the present moment, observing the self, values, and committed action.
The training will highlight the relevance and benefits of incorporating ACT into Play Therapy, offering a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications. Attendees will explore techniques to help children distance themselves from unhelpful thoughts (cognitive defusion) and practice methods for teaching acceptance of difficult emotions through engaging play activities.
Participants will learn to implement activities that foster mindfulness and present moment awareness in children, helping them stay engaged and centered during therapy sessions. The training will also cover how to facilitate activities that help children identify their personal values through creative play-based interventions.
Attendees will develop strategies to support children in taking committed actions aligned with their values, integrating goal-setting and action planning into play therapy to promote positive behavior change. The program will emphasize blending ACT principles with established play therapy techniques to create a holistic and effective therapeutic approach.
Through interactive workshops, hands-on practice, and case study analyses, participants will enhance their ability to apply ACT within the context of Play Therapy, ultimately improving therapeutic outcomes for their young clients.

Stay Tuned for Registration Information
If you can no longer attend a workshop you have registered for, you may be eligible to either receive a credit for another workshop, or receive a refund if you are within the refund policy period. All live workshop refunds will be honored (less a 4% credit card processing fee) for cancellations received at least seven (7) days prior to the date of a live webinar or live workshop. For cancellation or credit requests with 6 days or less notice, a refund of 75% of the registration fee can be refunded or credited to another workshop. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds for On-Demand (Asynchronous) webinars due to the fact that once purchased, the participant has access immediately to all materials.
Refunds will also not be issued due to technical limitations of the participant. We provide detailed instructions, and we are happy to assist in this area to a reasonable extent; however, we don’t have the staff to guide you through every step of the process. Please note that payments made via Credit Card have certain fees associated with them, some of which are non-recoupable and are therefore non-refundable by Back on Track Counseling & Consulting LLC. Therefore, all workshop payments made by Credit Card will have a four percent credit card fee deducted from the refund. These fees do not apply to cash or check payments.
Should you have any questions regarding our workshop refund policy, please contact Ellie Wood, 770-468-3326 ext 101.
